Zone 2 cardio: 3 weeks in, resting HR down 6 bpm
F33. Lifting 3x for 2 years, cardio was always "a bit of running when I felt like it", which was never. Started zone 2 three weeks ago because of the walking thread, 3x 40 min on the bike at a heart rate where I can talk in full sentences (about 135 for me).
Resting HR on the watch: 64 to 58. Did not expect anything that fast.
Also lifting feels easier? Not stronger, but less gassed between sets. Could be placebo. Weight unchanged, which is fine, that was not the goal.
Is the HR drop normal this fast or is the watch messing with me?
Normal and real. The first few weeks of consistent easy cardio in someone who was not doing any give the fastest adaptations you will ever see. It slows down after month 2. Enjoy it.
The between-sets thing is not placebo either. Better recovery between sets is literally what aerobic fitness does for a lifter. You are not stronger, you just get your next set at full strength instead of 90%.
